Welcome back friends! Just wanted to quickly share a brief recap of this past weekend. As you guys know, nothing excites me more than trying out new coffee shops (eeeek!), so for the coffee series I’m working on I have a pretty lengthy list of places of places to try. I want to pick the best little shops so that in case you guys haven’t been, you really enjoy them as much as I do when (if) you do decide to go. Also to have a friendly suggestion on what to order. 🙂 That is currently in the works, so stay tuned!
Here comes fun fact # 3 about me, Home Goods is life to me. I legit LOVE that store. It kind of goes hand it hand with Ikea, but I think Home Goods might just be a step ahead. #watchoutikea. We went in looking for fun pieces we could incorporate to our new apartment and essentially came out with a bunch of plates, glasses, and things for the kitchen. Which I’m not mad at cause the kitchen is my happy place. I purchased a lot of Rae Dunn, because I mean, it’s Rae Dunn and I love her. #okurrr #takemymoneyrae.
Yesterday, consisted mainly of a lot of lounging around in the morning and blueberry pancakes. Leya has been on a strong pancake kick, so her wishes are my command. I love to cook, especially on the weekends. I think it’s because I don’t feel as rushed like I do during the week. Raise your hand if you feel the same lol.
Later on Sunday after noon, we did a quick photoshoot for an upcoming blog post that you guys will see later on this week. And being that we were in the Hillcrest area, we had a to make a coffee stop, duh. We walked over to The new Better Buzz that opened on University. I love the aesthetic of these coffee shops. They are so stinken cute! It’s so boho yet sophisticated. Love the vibe and their honey lattes!
If you follow me on IG, (and if you don’t why aren’t you?! Come join the fun!) then you know for dinner we had pesto fish and mushroom risotto. You also may have heard me say that according to Top Chef, risotto is supposed to expand and not be stiff. Let’s just say, mine didn’t expand and it was stiff lol. It was boxed too! So how could I have messed that up?! Ugh, I refuse to let that boxed risotto beat me, you will be seeing another attempt on that soon. I will say though, that even though it was stiff, it was pretty darn tasty. Here are the ingredients in case you guys are interested and want to take on the risotto challenge. Matter fact, I challenge you all to the risotto challenge! Let’s see!
- Fish is from Costco: Pesto Talapia
- Risotto is from Trader Joe’s
- Asparagus- tossed with salt, pepper, and chili flakes.
What was your guys’ weekend like? Anything fun or exciting? Let’s chat about it in the comments! 🙂
Till the next post!
