S.H.A.D.E Brunch: Empowering Women

Making the decision to finally pursue my dream of creating a blog, has been by far the most rewarding experiece I could of ever imagined.

Exposing yourself, being confident, and managing your personal life is no easy task, but it’s so worth it if you’re willing to just go for it.

One of the most rewarding feelings and perks of making that choice, is having the opportunity to meet amazing, talented, and fierce women. I had the privilege of meeting Keyonna(@allhail_keyonnna) the host of the S.H.A.D.E brunch at another event hosted by another lovely blogger Tiffany (@glitzandglambytiff), which you guys have to go check out because they’re some phenomenal a** ladies!

From the minute Keyonna spoke about this event, I was immediately sucked in. She spoke about this with so much passion and drive that it was just contagious. You could just see it in her eyes and her way of speaking, it truly was her vision coming to life. So beautiful!

S.H.A.D.E stands for support her ambition, drive, and excellence (yasss girl!). An event made for women to come together and talk about ourselves. Where are we in life? Are we happy? Are we doing our part on encouraging, supporting, applauding one another? And if we don’t, why? Why don’t women support each other more? What stops us?

Women from all ages attended and the pannelist were all women with unique experiences who shared not only their success but everything in between. How their struggles have molded them but also the challenges they’ve faced along the way. It was a very heart warming and eye opening experience. Here are a few of my take aways:

  • Support each other.
  • Support local brands.
  • Promote the women from your community.
  • Follow your dreams.
  • Believe in yourself.
  • Find good a support system.
  • Everyday is a good opportunity to start over.
  • Don’t give up on your goals.
  • Push yourself.
  • Your dreams are not big enough if they don’t scare you.
  • People will tell you No, or that you can’t, prove them wrong!
  • Don’t settle.
  • You can’t give from what you don’t have.
  • Love yourself.
  • Have a relationship with God.

Several times through out this event, I had eye opening moments, felt loved, supported, understood, and invincible. It made me want to push myself harder than ever, and accomplish what I’ve set my mind to do in my personal life but with my career as well. This event made me remember that together, we as women can accomplish anything if we love and support each other!

Be sure to follow the S.H.A.D.E page on Instagram and Facebook for more of their upcoming events!

Till’ the next post!
