Hey there! So glad you’re able to join me for another wellness Wednesday. I’m pretty excited to share this idea I’ve been having called ‘word of the day.’ Oh and just side note, I have never done this before. So we’ll be going on this journey together!
I’ve been going through several ups and downs over the past few days and when I start to wind down and get in my negative feels, I try to nip it and tell myself one, that it will be ok and two, happy thoughts. I was not always like this, I was actually quite the opposite and would drag myself and those around me in my dark and negative world. It was pretty horrible for me and I bet those around me hated me for it. But if there’s something I’ve learned, it has been that you have the power to change your entire day, heck, your entire life! So that’s exactly what I’m trying to do and I encourage you to do the same.
Word of the day is just adding on to some things I already do. So for example, every morning when I get in my car to drive to work, I tell myself today will be a good day. Sometimes things happen, so then I will have these mini conversations with myself and tell myself a lot of positive things, for example: you’re strong, you can accomplish anything, that doesn’t define me, I can do it!
I figured that taking this a step further would be great because I could really focus on that particular word through out the day and feel great. So this week, I have been thinking a lot about the word perseverance. I keep telling myself that no matter how hard and crappy things may feel right now, I will persevere. Everything seems impossible until it’s done, right? So I decided giving up is not an option.
I have been trying to include Leya more in my thoughts. I think including her in more of my day to day will help our relationship grow. After all it is just us, and I want her to have a positive mind and outlook on life. She is only 4, but I think it’s important to start young. Teaching her to have a positive mind and outlook will do her so good in the years to come.
I don’t know exactly when this word came in to my mind, but I’m glad that it did. I’d like to think that we can overcome anything we set our minds to, that we can do anything. My goal with this, is that every morning I will tell myself a positive word and tell myself why this is important and put it to practice. Not just for the day but for all the days.
I told Leya this word yesterday and her trying to pronounce it was the funniest thing ever, I wish I would of recorded her. This post is just the beginning of what I hope can grow in to a wonderful and encouraging movement. I hope you all decide to join on this journey to really be your biggest cheerleader and persevere to do better within yourself.
