This year I decided that it was going to be filled with taking small but mighty leaps. Ever since I was a kid I’ve had a love for reading and writing, I was at the library all the time in elementary and middle school. It was my little safe haven. I haven’t pick up a book in years, and I was slowly beating myself up for it because I haven’t been doing something I love. I can sit here and make a hundred excuses about why I stopped but I won’t, instead I will share with you the exciting adventure that I’ll be going on. I joined the San Diego Divas book club!
This has been like a dream come true! It was pretty much like I envisioned it to be too. For some reason I had a hunch that it was going to be all older women and yep, two other girls and myself were the only three under 30. The rest all older ladies and I love it! Oh and one of my daughter’s school teacher’s is part of it! Small world, right?!
So the way this works goes a little like this: they’re currently reading 3 or 4 books and are being led three women, who are the ones who started the club. This is essentially so we, the members have different options to read and also different times. Some meetings are during the day and others are in the evening on either weekdays or weekends.
Yesterday was my first time meeting the divas at the Union Tribune Book Event at Liberty Station and it couldn’t of been a more perfect meet. We met at Panera for coffee and breakfast and waited for the even to begin at 10 am. All of the ladies were super sweet and encouraging and just over all incredibly nice. It was seriously such a dream!
Here are the purchases I made and the children’s books I got for Leya- for free! Can’t wait to share more of this journey with you all and dive in to all these amazing reads!
Till’ the next post!
