Happy Monday friends! I hope you’re all having a great start of the week. Weekend Wrap up’s are back baby and now with more intention than ever!
I started listening to the Full Of Joy Podcast hosted by Franceska Boerman and even though she has just a few episodes under her wing, they’re so mighty and full of intention. By the way, if you don’t follow her on YouTube you should, she has amazing style.
Some of the things I took away from episode 2 was intentional posting on social media and the thought behind what you post. The other thing, was being present and really embracing the moment. I took her advice to heart and actually tried her 3 ways of being present:
- No phones while eating
- No phones on dates
- No phones in the bedroom
Now, Byron and I haven’t been on a date alone in a little while, but we have been out with Leya and this past weekend, I really tried to not have my phone out while we were out together. Instead Franceska recommended maybe taking a picture of the activity(ies) and post about them later. Which is what’s happening right now.
This weekend we ventured to one of my all time favorite places on earth-Ikea! Something about walking through Ikea that just makes me so happy. So we strolled around, got some inspo, and of course walked out with a few very important must haves such as the ones below:

After Ikea, we headed to my brother’s house for quesadillas de cazon and shrimp a la diabla! Cazon is a type of fish, very common in Acapulco, where my family is from and shrimp a la diabla is the way the shrimp are seasoned. Normally is guajillo type of sauce. So good! And no picture because I was actually so in to spending time with my family without actually wanting to check my phone. It felt so good to have that detachment.
Lazy Sunday morning rolled around and we had headed to Einsten’s Bagels for a jalapeno cheddar and everything bagel to make breakfast sandwiches at home. A chocolate chip one with cream cheese for little miss Leya and we spent the morning catching up on Good Morning America. If you asked me what an ideal Sunday looks like, it would be exactly that. Oh and coffee of course!
After lounging around for a bit we headed to shoot some photos and get ready for the week ahead. We really wanted this weekend to be relaxing and spend as much time with each other and that’s exactly what we did. As for Sunday evening, we began the Green Eggs and Ham series on Netflix with Leya and if you have little ones or just over all like Dr. Seuss as much as we do then you have to watch it!

I hope you all had a great weekend and time spent with your loved ones.
Till the next post!
