Trader Joe’s Beauty

I swear, after I turned 25 my skin was never the same. I was always a very oily-skin gal, so I was always on the hunt for the best matte products and skin care. When I look back now, I cringe at the idea of how badly I was trying to scrape away all of my oils. However, I later found out that the more you try to strip them away the harder your skin works to produce more. Well, now I’m the total opposite. Two weeks ago, the temperatures begin to drop and my skin literally began to flake of how dry it got. It actually felt like it was hurting from how dry it was. I couldn’t really even smile without it feeling like it was cracking. Yeah, it was no bueno.

Monday of last week, I had just ran out of my Tatcha water cream serum but didn’t feel like making a Sephora run and my skin could not wait for something to be shipped to me. I actually had planned to make a quick Target run, so of course I asked you all what drug store items you recommended and SO MANY of you actually said Trader Joe’s beauty items ranging from serums to cleansers to eye creams to hair products to body oils. Well I was so intrigued that after my Target run, I jetted to TJ’s and grabbed all of your recommendations.

I have been using all products for over a week in my morning and night routine, and I couldn’t believe that as early as day two I could feel my skin so much more hydrated. Here’s what my morning routine has been consisting of:

  • TJ’s Nourish All-in-one cleanser: This product was ok to me. It felt as if I was using regular hand soap for my face and the smell just threw me off a bit. I actually prefer my Soap & Glory face wash because it smells better and it just feels better on my skin.
  • Versed Baby Cheeks All-In-One hydrating milk- this brand was also highly recommended from y’all but it’s from Target, and yes it’s amazing! This product is made for dry skin and very multi-functional, it can serve as a toner, cleanser, and make up remover.
  • TJ’s Nourish oil-free antioxidant facial moisturizer + Versed hydration station booster with Hyaluronic acid drops (2-3). These drops are also incredibly amazing and pack a ton of great benefits for the skin.
  • Olehenriksen banana bright under eye cream- not TJ’s but it’s def part of my mornings.

Evening/Night routine:

The only items I use differently are the vitamin E oil drops with the Nourish moisturizer and eye cream. I use the Versed hydration booster drops in the morning because that combo feels more light weight for day time. For my evening routine, after removing my make up and washing my face, I feel as if I have stripped my skin and it craves a thick layer of moisture. TJ’s vitamin E oil combined with the Nourish oil-free antioxidant facial moisturizer gives me just that. For that reason, I also decided to use the TJ’s Supreme Hydrating Eye Cream at night only. A little bit goes a long way with this little guy; it has a thick consistency as well which I love because its mask like for the under eye great and incredibly hydrating.

Shea butter + coconut oil hair serum: I normally apply my the hair serum after I wash my hair and only apply it to the ends of my hair. It adds incredible shine and softness to my hair that I love because it feels and look healthy. I don’t think that this is a life changing, must have product because I feel like many hair oils have the same objective, but for the affordable price and great smell it’s worth a try.

Lemon grass and coconut oil: this on the other hand is heaven in a bottle! Get it because your body will thank you especially during these cold months ahead. I’ve been using this one in the evenin as well after I shower. So so good and it smells amazing!

I went to Trader Joe’s last night, and of course I made my way to the beauty section. I noticed the ultra hydrating gel moisturizer with aloe and green tea extract and very excitedly picked it up. It’ not up for a review right now, but I’m looking forward to trying this out and incorporating in my routine- most likely in the morning. It feels very water like and light weight- pretty similar to my previous Tatcha one.

Overall you guys, I’m so pleasantly surprised with all of the products. I can truly say that for the past, almost two weeks of consistently using these I have seen a change in my skin. These are not the products that will necessarily tackle wrinkles, or dark spots, but I do believe that they help promote a soother, more fresh appearance. I personally see my skin a lot more plump and hydrated which is really what I was looking for, and for the price it’s definitely a phenomenal deal.

Have any of you tried these products? If so, which are your favorites? Which ones are you looking to try? Let’s chat about it!

Till’ the next post!

    1. Omg so sad! TJ’s is pretty awesome! Do you have something similar? and same! I’m usually oily ALL the time but the minute the temperatures drop my skin literally begins to crack. lol
